If you follow my blog, you know that boudoir is one of my most favorite genres to photograph, if not the most. Why? Well, I am a woman…I grew up in a time when we were supposed to be quiet, do what we were told, and help everyone without asking for much. I know, kind of showing my age! Anyway, this is where my mindset started in my teenage years, to want to stretch and ask why? Why can’t I do what the guys are doing? Why can’t I have a career that I want, or move there, or do whatever I want???
I believe fully that women should empower women, and be our best supporters. I know what its like to be turned down for something, told you’re not good enough, or pretty enough, or sit down or be quiet or do as you’re told. Now, I am in a wonderful long time marriage with my best friend, so this has been quite some time ago when I heard the bad comments. And that is why I want to empower!
I have watched all types of ladies come to me for boudoir, varying degrees of nervous….but 100% of the time, feeling so much more confident in themselves at the end of the session! Not all but some, have been put down or ridiculed, made to feel less than, or have had some major illness and just want to feel good again. Boudoir is here for everyone!
Just the act of pampering yourself, planning a good time, and maybe getting yourself a new outfit….sets the stage for a great session. I am here for you…to support and guide, talk it thru, and photograph you so that you feel loved, and lovely! In doing so, you should feel empowered and confident so that you can go out to do whatever it is that you just might not have had the courage for.
